Our commitment to education and engagement enhances public understanding of the universe and promotes interest in STEM fields among students of all ages.

IEEE Aerospace

Five students attended the weeklong IEEE Aerospace Conference in Big Sky, Montana this March. They presented a peer reviewed paper on the Polarization Modulated Optical Communications published at the conference. Students also engaged with many industry professionals, attended panels on space exploration technologies, and listened to other paper presentations at the conference.

SPIE

Seven UCSP students attended the SPIE Photonics West Conference in San Francisco this past January. Students presented a poster and paper entitled Polarization-modulated CubeSat Optical Communications. Students also visited Planet Labs! We are very grateful to Ryan Kingsbury and Arthur Descamps for arranging this!
